Android’s Racking Up Points, but Is iPhone Even Playing the Game?

So I’ve been watching all the latest smartphone and mobile device and operating system numbers come in from various analysts, and they’ve basically been saying the same thing: The Android horde is here. The NPD Group reported that Android accounted for 33 percent of all smartphones purchased in Q2, ahead of RIM and Apple.

iPhone 4 Buyers Open Fire With Barrage of Antenna Lawsuits

Apple and AT&T are facing several lawsuits over the widely reported reception problems found in the iPhone 4. The device’s new antenna design — which wraps around the phone in the form of a metal band — apparently causes reception to drop or even cut off completely if it is held in certain way without being covered by a protective case, such as the so-called Bumper that Apple sells for $30.

Big Red Rumor: Verizon to Land iPhone in January

Rumors about Verizon Wireless getting the iPhone resurfaced yet again Tuesday following a Bloomberg report claiming the carrier is set to become Apple’s second U.S. wireless provider in January. The report quoted unnamed sources. If the rumor is true this time, AT&T could be in for a beating and Apple could see even higher iPhone sales figures.
